As someone who does, and has one of the worst case examples for all those issue (as in Reference Blower Model) I can tell you its over-hyped. Many of them *most infact* have not had first hand ownership of Vega. Dont let people who cry foul on heat/thermals/noise fool you. The Radeon VII/GTX-1080ti/RTX-2080 and the 2080ti are all better options at 4K, but might be out of your price bracket considering you plan to stick to a budget FX rig for your base.Ĭurrently Vega 64 will offer you best FPS/$$, you can often find new units in the $400 range. Since you *plan* to play at 4K, and since FX can push 60FPS (assuming you will run 4k/60) then you wont be hitting much of a bottle neck on the FX chip and *will* want the most GPU you can push for the buck, as the GPU will *still* be the weak point in 4K gaming.įor 4K I would *not* go below Vega 64 or GTX-1080 or RTX-2070, all of which are roughly the same in real world performances, give or take a few FPS here and there.

Higher than 1080 but should not be pushing as hard as the 4k to keep a decent refresh rate? Trying to take in all this info is a alot. Would upgrading CPU to the fx-8370(8 core, 4ghz/4.3 turbo, 8 threads) be of any help or a different CPU? Motherboard supports AM3+Ģnd edit:ok what about 1440 resolution.
